Get Involved

Volunteers play an important role in the MND Association. They help to ensure that people with MND and their families receive the support and services they need.

The North London Branch is completely run by volunteers who work together in many different ways to provide support, raise awareness, influence, and fundraise on behalf of people living with MND, and we are always delighted to hear from anyone who would like to help out and support the Branch. You don't need personal experience of MND - just the desire to help.

You can choose how much time and commitment you want to give. Some volunteering roles involve attending meetings, which are held in the evenings or at weekends, whilst other roles can be done entirely from home. Whatever your skills or availability, there is likely to be a role suitable for you. Where necessary, training is available. The Association will refund any out of pocket expenses you incur whilst providing this support.

Could you help the Branch by:

  • Fundraising

  • Organising or supporting an event

  • Raising awareness

  • Taking a position on the Branch Management Committee

  • Becoming an Association Visitor (see below)

If you would like to volunteer with the branch, please contact Gay Watson on 020 8352 2595 or by email atNL-MNDA@hotmail.com .

Become an Association Visitor

The North London Branch has a dedicated and friendly team of six Association Visitors (AVs) who visit people living with MND and keep in touch by telephone and email.

We are always looking for sociable, caring people to volunteer as Visitors and join our team.

AVs play an incredibly important role, providing friendship, advice and support to people affected by MND, and offering a vital link with the Branch and other sources of support.

In return for your time, you’ll make some wonderful new friends and receive free training, which has won national recognition.

For more information on how you can become an AV please contact the Volunteering Team
