Waitrose Community Matters Donation
Waitrose has donated £660 to the Branch as part of their Community Matters scheme.
The scheme is designed to help put a share of Waitrose’s profits back into local communities. Each branch has £1000 per month which is divided proportionally between three local charities or causes nominated by their customers.
At the checkout customers receive a token, which they then place in the box of the good cause they'd most like to support. The more tokens a cause gets, the bigger the donation they receive.
The Branch would like to thank the Porchway C4675 Chapter of the Freemasons for their kind donation of £500.
Caroline and George collect the cheque at the Grand Lodge, Great Queen Street
In October we received a donation from the Temple Fortune branch of Marks and Spencer for £1278.97. The M&S store chose the North London Branch as their chosen charity and held various fundraising events, as well as cajoling their customers into donating at the tills.
Gay went along to the store to collect the cheque.
